HYDROGEOLOGY OF FRACTURED AQUIFERS: APPLICATION OF CONSISTENCY INDEXES FOR THE VALIDATION OF GEOSPATIAL MATHEMATICAL MODELS

In hydrogeology, most studies using interpolators seek to estimate water table elevations, contaminant concentrations and aquifer vulnerability. The primary goal of this research was evaluate which geospatial interpolator best suits six distinct hydrogeological parameters nine consistency tests. Water wells were selected on a portion the Serra Geral Fractured Aquifer System in Southern Brazil. This paper tested Inverse Distance Weighted, Radial Basis Function, Ordinary kriging, Lognormal kriging Cokriging methods. results pointed out that Weighted showed better performance for following parameters: potentiometric surface, first fracture flow zone second zone. Discharge, transmissivity, specific capacity static level low levels, greatly increasing uncertainties associated with mathematical models such parameters. Deterministic surpassed stochastic parameter estimates presented strong spatial dependence associations lithostratigraphy geomorphology. can contribute future work groundwater management planning fractured aquifers, since use different interpolation approaches analyse compare system has not been found literature.
